JUN NUO® tubes are ideal for collecting, transporting and processing capillary blood.
Capillary blood collection is especially recommended in patients with fragile veins, young children, geriatric patients and in situations where only a small blood sample is required.
JUN NUO® tubes are available with a volume of 0,25 to 1 ml and with a range of additives.
How to use
Using a capillary blood collection tube involves several steps to ensure accurate and safe blood collection. Here's a general guide:
1.
Prepare the Collection Site:
• Clean the puncture site (usually a finger or heel) with an alcohol swab and let it dry completely.
2.
Prick the Skin:
• Use a lancet to make a small puncture in the skin.
3.
Collect the Blood:
• Gently squeeze the finger or heel to form a drop of blood.
• Position the capillary blood collection tube so that the opening touches the drop of blood. Capillary action will draw the blood into the tube.

Cap the Tube:
• Once the required volume is collected, cap the tube securely.
2.
Mix the Blood:
• If the tube contains an anticoagulant, gently invert it several times to mix the blood.
3.
Label the Tube:
• Properly label the tube with the patient's information.
4.
Transport and Store:
• Transport the sample to the laboratory as per the guidelines and store it appropriately if needed.
5.
Dispose of Waste:
• Dispose of the lancet and any other used materials in a sharps container.
