Product Description
I.V. Cannula Catheter Injection Port Type involves inserting a small, flexible tube (cannula) into a vein to establish direct access to the venous system. This access is essential for drawing blood samples and delivering various medical treatments such as intravenous fluids, medications, nutritional support, chemotherapy agents, and blood transfusions.
Veins consist of a three-layered structure: an inner endothelial lining, a middle layer of smooth muscle, and an outer layer of connective tissue. Within these vessels, venous valves play a critical role by promoting one-way blood flow and preventing stagnation, particularly in the lower limbs. However, these valves can also obstruct the smooth advancement of a catheter during intravenous cannulation. Notably, valves are more frequently found just beyond the junctions where smaller veins merge with larger ones, and they are especially abundant in the lower extremities.
