Classification method of blood collection tube

The types of blood collection tubes are firstly classified according to the color of the test tube caps, and the other is classified according to different experimental requirements.

1. According to the color of the cap

The purpose of collecting blood from test tubes with different cap colors is different, and the additives in the tubes are also different. Generally, the cap colors are marked with international standards, so that each hospital can use basically the same cap markings, and the blood can be transported between hospitals for inspection. There will be no errors. However, in recent years, as each hospital is developing its own inspection information system, some hospitals use different colors to mark the caps in order to distinguish different laboratories in the hospital, and set different colors on different instrument systems, which makes the cap colors very confusing. , Manufacturers are also difficult to comply with, prone to errors.

2. Vacuum blood collection tubes are classified according to different experimental requirements

(1) Ordinary drying tube

There is neither anticoagulant nor accelerator, the blood coagulates by itself and the serum is separated. It is generally used for biochemical testing.

(2) There is a coagulant in the coagulant tube, which can make blood coagulate faster and separate serum, which is suitable for rapid detection of biochemical items in emergency.

(3) Separating glue plus coagulant tube

Not only can the serum be coagulated and separated more quickly, but the separation gel can separate the serum and blood cells, which is suitable for rapid emergency detection and can be placed for a longer time for detection.

(4) EDTA anticoagulant tube

It can better maintain the morphology of blood cells, and is suitable for blood routine testing, namely, blood cell count and classification testing.

(5) Sodium citrate anticoagulant tube

It is suitable for separating plasma for coagulation function experiment.

(6) Anticoagulant tube

It can be used to separate blood cells and plasma. If plasma is used for biochemical projects, it can be centrifuged immediately after blood collection to achieve faster detection; separating blood cells can be used for experiments such as T lymphocyte subsets.

(7) Test tubes for other special anticoagulants or additives

For example, the test tube with aprotinin is used for the detection of small molecule peptide hormones, and the test tube with sodium fluoride can inhibit the decomposition of glucose for blood glucose testing.
